Welcome every call as it deserves

From the first "press 1" to voicemail received by email, MaxiPBX routes every call exactly where it needs to go — according to your schedules, your teams and your priorities. Everything is configured in a few clicks from the portal, without a service provider.

Voice menus and announcements (IVR)

Guide your callers from the first second with multi-level voice menus and professional announcements.

  • Multi-level menus: "press 1 for sales, 2 for support…"
  • Announcements and personalized welcome messages, by company and by department
  • Different behavior depending on time: day, night, weekend, public holidays
  • Centralized announcement directory, updated with one click
02

Call queues and agents

Never lose calls during peak hours: call queues distribute calls among your staff, with hold announcements and overflow.

  • Distribution strategies: general ring, round-robin, least busy…
  • Agents can log in and out in one gesture, from any device
  • An agent in queue rings on ALL their devices: desk phone, mobile, computer
  • Position announcements and personalized hold music
  • Overflow to another queue, voicemail or external number
03

Routing according to your schedules

Your calls follow your reality: opening hours, breaks, vacations and exceptions are configured once and apply automatically.

  • Opening hours by department, with Swiss public holidays
  • Automatic forwarding outside hours: voicemail, announcement or on-call number
  • Call groups and cascading ring tones
  • Identification prefix on incoming calls (e.g. "SALES:" before the caller's name)
04

Voicemail and call comfort

Each user has professional voicemail — accessible from the telephone, the application or directly in their email inbox.

  • Voice messages received by email with audio file attached
  • Supervised or direct call transfer, hold, call interception
  • Customizable hold music by company
  • Keep your existing numbers (portability ensured by MaxiConnect)
05

Multi-site: PBX ↔ PBX interconnection

Multiple sites, multiple entities, or a partner to reach internally? The "PBX Interconnection" trunk links your MaxiPBX to another PBX — a second MaxiPBX or a third-party SIP system — by simple registration, without fixed IP or VPN.

  • Dynamic trunk based on registration: works even without a fixed IP address on one of the sites
  • Internal calls between sites: dial the extension of the remote site, the call automatically goes through the interconnection
  • Number ranges and extensions of the remote PBX declared once, routing in both directions
  • Secure: disabled by default, strong authentication, optional IP address restriction
  • Compatible with third-party SIP PBX (Asterisk, FreePBX…), connection guide provided

What is an IVR (interactive voice server) and do I need one?

The IVR is the voice menu that welcomes your callers: "press 1 for sales, 2 for support". As soon as several people or departments answer the phone, it directs calls to the right team without going through a receptionist — a time saver for both the caller and you. In MaxiPBX, it's built in a few clicks, with your own announcements.

How does a call queue work?

When all your staff are busy, the caller waits with music or announcements instead of hearing a busy tone. MaxiPBX then distributes the call according to the chosen strategy (general ring, round-robin, least busy agent) and can overflow to another team, voicemail or an external number if the wait continues.

Can an agent answer queue calls from their mobile?

Yes — that's a strength of MaxiPBX: an agent logged into a queue rings on ALL their devices, desk phone, computer and mobile app. Ideal for remote work or mobile teams: the queue follows the agent, not their desk.

Can you have different schedules by department?

Absolutely. Each department can have its own opening hours, public holidays and out-of-hours behavior: voicemail, announcement, forwarding to an on-call number. Support can close at 6pm when reception closes at 5pm — each has its own rule, applied automatically.

Do voice messages arrive by email?

Yes, each voice message can be sent by email with the audio file attached: your staff listen to them from their email, their smartphone or their desk phone, and nothing gets lost even when traveling.

Can you link multiple sites or multiple PBX systems together?

Yes: the "PBX Interconnection" trunk links your MaxiPBX to another PBX — a second MaxiPBX or a third-party SIP system like Asterisk or FreePBX — by simple registration, without fixed IP or VPN. You declare once the extension and number ranges of the remote site, and your staff call the other site as if it were an internal extension. Everything is secure (strong authentication, optional IP address restriction) and configured entirely from the portal.
